The Janka wood hardness rating is a relative measurement of
the wood's impact resistance and wear resistance. It is
basically an evaluation of a wood's hardness. The higher
the rating, the harder is the species of wood. Brazilian
hardwoods rank at the top of the scale for all woods. Ipé,
Cumaru, Massaranduba, and Jatoba are some of the worlds hardest
woods. All Brazilian Hardwood even including
Tigerwood, Sucupira, Garapa are harder than Maple or Oak.
